Waterless cleaning is highly effective for removing loose dust and light debris, especially when performed regularly. Lavee Solar has been proven to keep panels cleaner for longer due to its dirt and water repellent properties.

The frequency depends on local conditions. In dusty environments or areas with little rainfall, more frequent cleaning is beneficial. Regular schedules (monthly or quarterly) are common for optimal performance. In the UK, where irradiation is relatively low and rainfall is prevalent, we generally recommend once or twice annually.

Yes!

DIY waterless cleaning is possible for ground-mounted or easily accessible panels using proper tools, although we highly recommend following our ‘User guide’ for further details on equipment and application. For roof-mounted panels or large installations, professional services are safer and more efficient.

After irradiance, soiling is the single most influential factor impacting solar PV system yield. Dirty panels can lose 50% (or more) of their energy production in extreme cases. Typical figures are as follows: Open space (5%), Commercial (8-15%), Agricultural (15-30%), Industrial (30%), Desert Region (50%). In the UK, due to frequent rainfall soiling accounts for estimated losses of 8-15%. Regular cleaning - waterless or otherwise - helps maintain optimal output.

Dust repellence on solar panels works mainly through the existence of two attributes in the formulation of the product -  electrostatic repulsion and passive anti-soiling coating. After cleaning with Lavee Solar, these mechanisms remain active on the surface of the panels for some time, keeping them free from dust, dirt and general debris.
