SmartShield™ technology – cleaning & protection in one step

Repellence is key to long-Term performance

Soiling rates vary widely by site, with industry‑recognised annual performance losses ranging from around 5% to over 50%, and higher in extreme environments.

As soiling accumulates, system performance becomes less predictable and output declines over time.

Lavee Solar’s SmartShield™ technology cleans panel surfaces and creates a hydrophobic, anti‑soiling surface protection effect, helping to slow the rate of re‑soiling and keep panels cleaner for longer.

By reducing soiling and limiting repeated intervention, SmartShield™ supports more consistent retained performance across a wide range of site conditions - without the use of water.

Keeping panels cleaner supports consistent generation

After cleaning with Lavee Solar, panels benefit from built‑in surface protection that helps slow the accumulation of dirt and airborne contamination.

Independent testing shows that SmartShield™‑treated panels retain cleaner surfaces for longer than untreated panels, reducing soiling‑related losses and supporting more consistent light transmittance.

Cleaner panels help stabilise output over time and protect long‑term asset value.

No Clean vs Water vs Lavee Solar

Scenario 1 - No cleaning (grey line): Soiling accumulates continuously, leading to compound losses and a steady decline in retained performance.

Scenario 2 - Water cleaning (blue line): Performance temporarily recovers after cleaning, but soiling returns rapidly and performance drift resumes between interventions.

Scenario 3 - Lavee Solar (orange line): Panels are cleaned and protected. SmartShield™ slows the rate of re‑soiling, helping panels stay cleaner for longer and retain more stable generating performance between planned cleans.

    Harness protection. Support long-term value

With Lavee Solar, the economic case centres on preventing soiling losses rather than relying on reactive cleaning or added resources. Even in lower‑irradiance regions, modest per‑panel costs can help retain performance that would otherwise be lost over time.

Wherever a system is located, one reality holds - unmanaged soiling leads to avoidable performance drift and cost.

    Simple 3-step manual process

    STEP 1 — SPRAY

Apply approximately 50 ml of Lavee Solar evenly across the panel surface.

    STEP 2 — SPREAD

Using a non-abrasive, non-woven synthetic cleaning pad, spread the product across the entire panel surface using straight, up‑and‑down strokes to lift and remove soiling.

    STEP 3 — SQUEEGEE

Starting at the top of the panel, use a squeegee to remove the loosened soiling and excess product in straight downward strokes.

Protecting your investment for the long term

Investing in solar is a long‑term commitment that extends well beyond installation. With most leading PV manufacturers offering 15‑to 30‑year warranties, maintaining module condition and surface integrity is an important part of protecting asset value over the life of the system.

Lavee Solar is designed to support stable long‑term performance by reducing soiling‑related risk without compromising manufacturer warranty requirements.

    Trusted safety where it matters

Manufacturers strongly advise against using untested or unsuitable detergents, as they can damage the glass, seals, frames and surrounding components.

Lavee Solar is engineered with safety at its core - formulated to protect every part of the installation while being safe for the environment and the people who maintain the system.

It cleans effectively without compromising the integrity of the hardware.

Tested, approved and trusted by experts

Lavee Solar has been independently tested by TÜV SÜD and UNICAMP, ensuring it meets strict standards for safety and performance.

It is also approved for use by leading global PV manufacturers, giving confidence that panels can be cleaned and protected without compromising materials or warranty requirements.

When you choose Lavee Solar, you’re choosing a solution that safeguards your investment and supports stable long‑term system performance.
